ABOUT THE THERAPIST
Gailla Deiters has been a certified colon therapist since May 1989 through the Wood Hygienic Institute, the first state licensed school of colon therapy in the U.S. Additionally, she is certified through the International Association of Colon-Hydrotherapy, (I-ACT). 2024 marks 35 years as a certified colon therapist. She also mentors other certified colon therapists with continued education on the microbiome and its relation to health, the care of clients with varying health concerns, auto-immune illness and its relation to the gut microbiome, and identifying probiotics by looking at genus, species, and strain.
Gailla formally owned Colon Hygiene Services in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin between Milwaukee and Chicago for 24 years before moving to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2013.
Gailla's experience has enabled her to make positive changes in people's lives. These include chronic constipation, IBS, colitis, diarrhea, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, SIBO, candidiasis, and many skin problems. Gailla has helped many on their journey to wellness from cancer, auto immune diseases, and much more. She was diagnosed with lupus herself prior to her journey with colon therapy. One of the most rewarding experiences of her life has been the opportunity to learn under the mentorship of the late great scientist, Dr. Khaem Shahani. He was a professor at the University of Nebraska and wrote over 200 peer-reviewed scientific journals, most of which dealt with probiotics. He served for 14 years on an expert panel for the World Health Organization. He also received numerous awards around the world for his accomplishments. Gailla’s relationship with Dr Shahani has enabled her to develop her own private brand of probiotics over the years. Dr Shahani’s patented product DDS-1 L. acidophilus is the world’s most widely studied probiotic strain.

Gailla has been helping myself and my son for 4 years. I have IBS and tend to hold my stress in my stomach. Gailla gave me suggestions for keeping my colon happy and healthy.
